From Squeaky Clean to 10 Scholarships – The E! True Hollywood Story of Calvin Sampson

Article:

Please take a minute or two to read the entire article. Now reread the section on “The friendly media”. I commented on this exact idea, and I was critized of wearing “orange blinders” by no other than Schilling and the Commish (BTW, please label your posts)!!!! I guess CBS has my same taste in “blinders.”

Anyways, back to the Article. Phone calls, are you freakin' serious!!!! Three years of investigations, and the NCAA accuses OU of making too many phone calls!!!! You fuckwits….. I was expecting hookers, 3 hour boat rides, or at least something that sounds slightly illegal.

I, for one, am now investing in those trac phones that you sell at wal-mart. Trace this!!!!

I also expect to hear more out of this
story as it develops, but until then, Calvin......

  • I don't think that phone calls are a major deal, especially when you look at the end of the story and it discusses if you leave a message and call back that is considered two phone calls even though you have not talked to the recruit.

I did say you wear orange blinders, but not in relation to this, that was in relation to the Daily Disappointment in Oklahoma. I am sure Eddie Sutton is running a clean program, I mean he has always been known for that just ask Kentucky.

  • I heard some new information about why OU's self imposed sanctions are not going to fly with the NCAA.

The NCAA started investigating OU about 3 years ago, and obviously OU was aware of the investigation. During the past 3 years, the illegal phone calls did not stop.

So, OU imposed a few sanctions. They eliminated 2 sholarships next year and one the following year, 2 years of probation, and a few other recruiting restrictions.

Well, in Sampson's tenure at OU, I heard today that at OU, Sampson has never had a full scholarship roster (13). He has always had spare scholarships. Well, the NCAA did view eliminating 3 scholarships in 2 years as a very large punishment.

With Sampson being on the NCAA Ethics committee, and then breaking rules after being informed of the investigation, is just plain stupid. The NCAA will probably punish OU severely for this.

A similar story ine happened to OSU wrestling back in the 80s. After basketball games the wrestler were paid $7/hour to clean Gallagher Iba. The result was the death penalty and 4 national championships.

  • A little off topic, Guys... I have a question. Last week I looked at this site:
    Rivalspot.com - Ps3 Live Tournaments
They say you can play online Fight Night game tournaments on any console for cash... had anyone tried that before? Looks like a cool idea...
Are there any other sites where you can play sports games for real moneys? I Googled and found only Bringit.com and Worldgaming.com but it looks these guys don't specialize in sport gamez. Any suggestions?
